Waxing Poetic...

'silk flowers, wax cast statuary, taxidermy animals, taxidermy birds, thread, silk/rayon velvet, felt, tree branches, tree bark, driftwood, specially formulated wax, pearl-headed hat pins, black spray paint, pigment, plywood, wood, metal hardware, chicken wire fencing, wire, and cable' 

Part gothic, part romantic and completely original, the materials list above reads like modern poetry! New York artist PETAH COYNE currently has an exhibit called VERMILION FOG at the Galerie Lelong in NYC.  Her 'girls' as she affectionately refers to her sculptures, remind me of enchanted forests gone wild, baroque brides caught in a windstorm and ancient castle chandeliers that have collected memories and debris of time...
