This morning I thought I would share a special corner of my daughters room. We believe in fairies in this house! My daughter writes to them on a regular basis, and sometimes they write back! Occasionally little gifts appear out of nowhere; acorn caps, walnut baby carriages, or tiny teapots... Fairy dust seems to always be swirling in the air, and 'fairy friends' gather for parties and festivals on a daily basis. As my daughter gets older (she's 11 now) she doesn't write quite as often, but the corner still waits... Every once in a while, she and her best friend will re-create her 'fairy village' adding fresh flowers, tucking the babies in, and putting lots of teapots and treats out - just in case! Sometimes I forget that we have fairies in our garden, its nice to be reminded when time slips by so quickly!
(Houses and felt dolls by my friend Lucille, Watercolors by my father, everything else by my daughter! And yes, the plaque above hangs by our front door! a gift from my Father-in-Law. We truly are a family of 'Believers'...)
