Claude Lalanne creates whimsical jewelry and sculpture inspired by the magic and intricacies of nature. She and her husband Francois-Xavier are truly national treasures of France. (Francois work is delightful too, but we will save him for another post) Claude creates her pieces using elements from nature, cast in silver, gold and bronze, and then re-assembled into delightful new interpretations. Unfortunately there does not seem to be extensive selections of her work on the web. I found a few pieces here, here and here. Through Claude's eyes, rabbits have cabbage frills around their necks, both gentle beast and human wear bramble bracelets to the market and dancing days call for a hat crafted of delicate butterflies. Yes, dreams do come true...
