I usually don't care for contemporary jewelry, but these pieces by Terhi Tolvanen are quite compelling... I love the use of textiles, and other media to represent natural elements in nature!
Here are a few of the 'Treats' I will have on this Saturday's HALLOWEEN AND VINE show in Petaluma! If you are in the area please come by and say Hello! Hope to see you!!!
These jeweled treasures are by Kristin Beeler. I love how she has made the commonplace (a bit of thread, a fly, scraps of paper and twisted wire) into the profane! Truly lovely!!!

My dear friend Judy introduced me to Bay-area Jewelry designer Carla Labat, and I am hooked! Carla's inspiring 'Large-Scale' jewelry would surely appeal to Marie Antoinettes sensibilities! Made from vintage fabrics, trims, buckles, and appliqués found in Paris Flea Markets, her jewelry is reminiscent of 18th century theatre costuming with a modern twist. Surely one doesn't have to be a 'Queen' to wear such treasures... Time to raid my trim drawers!!!

The jewelry of Lydia Gerbig-Fast is sensual, vibrant and beautiful. I can imagine walking in a magical meadow wearing one of her 'Tiaras' and feeling like a fairy princess... Breathtaking!!!

Dearest Cally found these, and just knew I'd love them! Not only are these brooches 'Miniature', but they are wearable, and in a 'Marie Antoinette' style!!! Wow, can it get any better??? Iris Nieuwenburg means to evoke moments in time, suggest movement and a presence in a room with her lovely work. Inspiring! Thank you Cally!!!

These reliquary like pieces are by Canadian Jeweler Erin Dolman. I really like her combination of 'contained elements' with etched and worked metals. LOVELY!

Red Coral Crocheted from plastic bag yarn by Helle of Gooseflesh inspired by this amazing necklace worn by Tilda Swinton. I dont know which is more beautiful? Truly stunning!!!
