I have just listed my 'Chinoiserie Fabric Fish' brooch as a PDF on my Etsy. This is the perfect project to use those tiny little bits of precious fabrics you have been saving for something special! Inspired by a Chinese Baby Hat in my collection, Fish are symbolic for 'Abundance', 'Plenty' and 'Surplus' in China. Wear one of these pins, or place it in your home, and you will surely attract thse traits!

Whats a Fairy Flea Market? Well its a flea market even the fairies would love to attend! I'm cleaning and clearing and have found some treasures to sell. I've collected a few Vintage finds to tempt you as well as a batch of my older work that needs new homes. Once, before the new millenium, I actually made a line of small quilts, pillowcases and linens that I sold at local home furnishing shops. Most did sell, but the other day I discovered a few boxed away and now I am going to let you, my dear readers have first dibs on them. Take a peek in my Etsy store HERE!
P.S. MORE TO COME TOMORROW!!!

Wondering what I've been up to the last few weeks? Well here is the start! I am slowly but surely converting my favorite and most popular classes into PDF's! Now my dear readers, no matter where you are, you too can take a class with me! The first one is for RELIQUARIES! I am so excited to be offering you this 34 page instruction PDF. Truly one of my most popular classes, and such a satisfying thing to create! LOOK HERE for all the details and to purchase!
The second PDF I have listed today is for my Day of the Dead Coffin Shadowbox, in 16 pages. Yes it is out of season, but I think once you get the basics down on how to create this wonderful little treasure box you will have the skills to make all sorts of fun boxes. Think little houses, or fan shapes, or even Easter Eggs... LOOK HERE for all the details and to purchase!
I have Valentines on my mind now, plus more full day class PDF's in the making. Stay Tuned, and Happy Wednesday!!!

I did it! The six tutorials that I presented at last weeks Tinsel and Treasures Show have now been made into PDF's and are ready to purchase in My ETSY Shop! For ease and convenience I have added the Etsy Mini-shop to my sidebar. Just press on one of the tutorial images and it will take you right there!
These first six are all 'small' projects, as opposed to my larger 'classroom' projects. Each takes about an hour to complete. The PDF's have been formatted to fit American standard letter size paper, as well as Universal A4 size paper. Each tutorial comes with detailed instructions with lots of photos, and beautiful patterns and images.
I can't wait to hear what you all think of them!!!

Do you need a luxurious bed for your resident fairy? a little bird to keep you company in the morning? or perhaps a lovely fairy with a flower petal skirt, or a gnome with his own mushroom house? or a real fairy-castle??? I am so happy to announce that my dear friend and neighbor Lucille of 'Forest Whimsy' is now selling her wonderful felted creatures and fairy houses on Etsy! I can't begin to tell you how delightful and whimsical her work is, being a proud owner of not one but two of her houses, and a whole family of fairies, mermaids and gnomes! One can never have too many!!! Best of luck Lucille!!!

Wednesday evening pulled us a little more into the Christmas spirit with my daughters flute concert... Its been a challange to feel the 'spirit' this week, and we continue to struggle, me especially... Yesterday the lights went up on the tree, and a few gifts were wrapped. Today we hope to do a little baking and quiet yule-time reading. I have re-stocked my kits in my Etsy Shop (sorry for the delay). I have lots of things to post for you, and will try to add a few more later today! Blessings...

Things have been a whirlwind around here, with my kits selling almost as fast as I can make them (THANK YOU EVERYONE, AND I JUST ADDED MORE KITS TODAY!) The ultra talented Pam Garrison was sweet enough to mention my kits on her blog yesterday, THANKS PAM!, so the fire is under my pants again!!! I also scheduled my first official 'IN STUDIO' CLASS for this Sunday, so I have been working like crazy to get my space to look more like a 'teaching studo' and less like a 'disaster zone'!
I thought I'd give you a sneak peak of my studio. We purchased our house mainly because it has a double garage - (the old-fashioned kind, where the garage is back to back towards the end of the lot). First month we moved in, my husband closed off the back half of the space for me, and put in new walls and floor. A few years ago, he put in french doors out to the garden, and little windows framing the doors, plus my own private deck that sits under the apple tree! I love my studio, but more often than not it looks like a disaster zone inside!!! I am usually working on at least 5 projects at a time, and move around from project to project... So you are getting the official "Photographers Special" photos today, trust me, it won't stay this neat for long!!!
First, I really wanted some 'Beauty' in my room, and created special little spots where I can rest my eyes when my fingers need to stop... This photo shows the right hand wall as you come into the studio, with an old green couch, my doll-house (with storage underneath!), and a few other Ulla- pieces. The rose poster, was hand carried to me by Carol's sister from Germany, earlier this year! Isn't it fabulous?
Next is the area, by the window on the same wall, where I have all my jewelry equipement and space. I hung my favorite Tivoli poster, and put a sweet little vintage church below it with a few other favorite things... And here is how my view looks out into the garden. There are sweet little German flower children on the sill. Since I hate to weed and prune, my garden is pretty wild right now - just like a cottage garden... Thats the neighbors old Victorian you can see thru the bushes...
Another big goal for this studio clean-up was to make a permanent space for my daughter! She often works with me, but I have to shift her around depending on what I am working on. So I designated a corner just for her! (check out the cool storage basket for pipecleaners!)
On my back wall I have long shelves, the top devoted to some of my bird cages (my daughters spot is under the swan!) and the second shelf for pretty storage. My sewing area (with my beloved Bernina) is on the opposite corner from my daughters space.

I have tons of ribbons that I store in two old doll-buggies that used to be my daughters (she got them the same year for christmas - one from me, one from grandmother - LOL) I also bought some 'Martha Stewert' Apothecary jars (at K-mart) to put favorite ribbons, leaves, and flower centers in. Thats an old gingerbread clock case behind them, that I hope to make into a 'doll case' someday! Enough for now, will post more later, including photos of where most of my 'stuff' is stored!!!

'Miss Pear and her Pet Partridge' is my next kit for sale in my Etsy Shop! I've switched to plenty of color this time, creating her fancy-dress clothing from German crepe-paper and golden Dresden, gold paper punched leaves, and a fun pressed-fabric 'flounce' as an underskirt! Her arms and legs are attached with tiny brads so you can move them as you please. She is ready to greet your holiday season in style, with her little pet partridge seated securely on her shoulder for all to see.
I took direct inspiration from my Pear and Partridge dolls that I made years ago, as well as a quite nod to dear Constance's 'Floralina' bags! Enjoy!

Just in time for the weekend, I now have this delightful PEACE GARLAND KIT for sale in my Etsy Shop! This kit uses cotton batting for the mittens, vintage baby photos, chenille for the ears, gold dresden, vintage flower centers (little roses), paper leaves, tiny clothespins! and letters cut from an old French manuscript. These little darlings cannot wait to come and hang in your home and greet the new year! Ready to ship Monday Morning!!!

Here is another new kit in my Etsy Shop, called 'Celestial Celebration'! I found 12 lovely vintage-German pressed paper swallows (6" long) and decided they needed little riders on their backs - off searching for stars, to drop on your holiday celebrations! This kit also includes unusual letter-pressed colored paper with golden stars for the crowns, bits of Dresden trim, mini pompoms, cotton batting, gold wire and of course a copy of the 'sweet littles' riding on the swallows back. Only 12 of these, until I can find more swallows... so get them quick! I also added a few more 'Pageant Children' kits. ENJOY!
