Collars and Gowns
I love the work of Karen Halt, and actually did a post on her earlier HERE. She not only creates lovely textile pieces that are painted and then coated with beeswax, but then paints her art in new settings... I am particularly drawn to her 'Collars with Torso's'. Three dimensional little paintings that have a figural base. And the colors and illustrations of her 'Gown by da Vinci' positively sing!!!

You are right as usual, it really brings the " wearable art" phrase to life! I'm always looking forwards to discovering new artists thanks to you!!

Ohhhhh... The images she paints on the collars and on the bodices are magical...and then to place them in settings and paint the entire scene...wow. She's exploring all avenues with her artwork. The idea of a bird creating a nest in the collar of one of the bodices makes my soul leap in happiness. Wonderful!

These are wonderful and speaking of wonderful.....I took a trip over to the Castle yesterday. I love your millinery shadow box! My hubbie has designed numerous sets and I would love to do something like that with one of his set backgrounds and re-alter. Your work is wonderful. Picked up a class list so I hoping to meet you at some point.
