The Ceramics of Jean-Baptiste Astier de Villatte

Evenementg

Having recently seen an article about (and falling in love with) the home of French ceramist Jean-Baptiste Astier de Villatte, I was delighted to find his work for sale on line! Architect and decorator, Jean-Baptiste studied in the School for Interior Design in Lyon. He has a gallery with a permanent exhibition in Chinon (France), where he shows and sells his creations. I especially love his figural work; busts, dolls, and other wonderful treasures that have a lovely sensibility and simplicity and charm about them, that captured my heart immediately!!!

Lovely in a artistic~realistic soulful way.
Yes I want to see more now!!

Do you know if he is affiliated with the firm Astier De Villatte? His ceramics and furniture look similar, yet slightly different. I am a huge fan of theirs, but have not been aware of this guy. Thanks. You have such great finds!

The expressions on the faces and forms are wonderful.

I'm also a great fan of his work and decorating world. You should go to the website http://www.interieurs.fr/. Open an account (it's free). Then, if you type his name, you'll be able to see a video which shows a visit of his home full of ideas and art. It's a real delight. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

His sculpted faces really look like they are about to come to life, don't they?

Wishing you and yours a joyful Holiday season!
