Procession of the Ghouls

SOMEDAY I dream of seeing this - held in The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York, The Procession of the Ghouls is part of The Halloween Extravaganza! "The evening's entertainment begins with a screening of a classic horror film. In 2004, they showed the 1920 silent film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and in 2005, they showed the 1928 version of The Phantom of the Opera starring Lon Chaney. Cathedral Organist Timothy Brumfield provides an eerie soundtrack for this haunting classic film. The Cathedral truly embodies the spirit of Halloween, with dim lighting and a ghostly feeling created by the organ music.
Following the movie, The Grand Procession of the Ghouls begins, again accompanied by the Cathedral's outstanding organist. Ralph Lee, who created New York City's Halloween Parade, stages an impressive parade of ghoulish characters who slowly work their way down the center aisle, often interacting with audience members. The costumes are impressive and the ghouls stay perfectly in character, which makes for an enjoying experience for young and old alike." LinkHalloween0042

Oh gosh darnit, it was on Friday. Well, I'm marking it down in my calendar for next year... Thanks for the link, Ulla!

Wha-???! It's in New York??! Near ME??!!! Gotta go, Ulla, gotta see if I'm too late...maybe I can sneak in the back door...

What a way to spend a pre-Halloween evening. Love it. My mother just went to a screening of a silent movie of The Phantom with organ music, she said it was great. There's a place here in SLC that features silent music with organ music on the weekend...it's called the Organ Room. I'll have to go some day! Thanks for sharing your pics.

What a scary procession !!!

So Cool, I love the Bones and People on the Moons!

Closet Goths unite, eh?
