"I am interested in the idea of artist as mad scientist. My drawings offer visual hypotheses to the question: what would happen if the DNA sequence of a plant or mushroom were spliced with that of an animal?" These are the words of artist Amy Ross. Her work is both disturbing and charming. She captures a wonderful sweetness in her subjects, and then costumes them in 'mad scientist' attire. In Amy's world, Goats and rabbits grow on plants, and birds and frogs become 'toadstools'... We wonder - 'What next?'
