Hats From The Chinese Opera
These amazing 19th century headpieces are from an exhibit on Chinese Opera Costume. I just adore their opulence and magical colors. The blue and blue-green colored elements were created of Kingfisher feathers, a common decorative element in Chinese Opera Costumes of the time. Breathtaking!!

i just found your blog! inspiration is the perfect word to describe it. thankyou.
i even blogged about you today, so that everyone who reads me will get treated a piece of your lovely visual cake.

I love these Chinese headdresses! I took a picture of one in a store in S. Pasadena called Sonnies years ago. It was hanging off the ceiling and took my breath away. I look at the picture in my work room every day. It's so inspriing! This is the first time I have ever seen another. Good find Ulla.
