Hats By Phyllis!

Yesterday I had the genuine pleasure of meeting hat designer Phyllis Beals at a 'trunk-show' in her home! A mutual friend of ours has been trying to get the two of us together for years, (we litterly live only 9 blocks apart!) but somehow it never happened until yesterday! What a treat to be with her (shown in first photo to the right with her friend Joan)! Her hats, her home, and even her car (see last photo) are filled with an overflow of artistic delight - a perfect reflection of a woman who radiates whimsical beauty and playful spirit!!!

It is imperative when flying coach that you restrain any tendency toward
the vividly imaginative. For although it may momentarily appear to be the
case, it is not at all likely that the cabin is entirely inhabited by
crying babies smoking inexpensive domestic cigars.

i love the frida kahlo chair!

How fantastic, Ulla ...
that you two have finally met!

Another creative soul ...Just a short walk away
I can only imagine your neighborhood.

Wish I could see Phyllis' incredible home up-close and personal ... Wander about, peek into her studio space ... Into the cupboards & drawers (you just know they are filled with wonderful things!)

What fun she has created ...
But best of all?

The vintage CAR .::swoon::. & even in 'my' color!

I have enjoyed the visit with you to the trunk show of fabulous, fun hats! Thanks for inviting us along!

What a neighborhood we live in, eh? Unbelievable hats and magical interiors... And your "eye" is always working overtime, Ulla. Lynnette

Oh gosh, what a lovely home I just love that chandelier and the japanese parasols! Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures.

I love Phyllis's wonderful little car! We've been thinking of buying an unusual car like that but thought maybe it would be too different, but after seeing her car, now we feel a little braver! I love her hats, too! So whimsical and funny!

Phillis makes beautiful hats, and creates a wonderous atmosphere in her home too. Glad the two of you finally met. Hope her trunk show went well. Thank you for her link.

Nice hats !
Thanks for the visit and message, it is so sweet of you.
:=)

A visit to fantasyland! I adore the paper parasols open on top of the piece of furniture and the fact that it looks like there isn't an inch of empty wall space.

Thanks for taking me with you :-)
Marta is taking part in a dance and drama workshop after school for a few weeks. They are making their own performance which they will show is some time in January. Seems like my hats are an important part of the show.......they are never where they should be any more, lol.
