My good friend and neighbor Lucille just forwarded this link to me, knowing I would LOVE it! Talk about perfect timing too. I am feeling my Gypsy Blood roaring in my vains and wishing I had a wagon like this or this to go explore the world! Now let me tell you, gypsy lust is nothing new for me. When I was a wee babe, my parents lived in a beautiful silver 'Airstream' and traveled the states. For a while my dearest Uncle Per, who is also my real Godfather, lived with us too. Here are some photos of my Mother, my Uncle Per (the real pied-piper) and Me (on the end of the stick!) making music somewhere in the middle of the country.
When my brother came along 4 years after me, my parents sold the Airstream, bought a house to use as homebase and traveled by plane instead... We still managed to live in Denmark and Portugal on different occassions. Then 10 years later, twin sisters arrived. My parents decided to sell everything again, buy a Moter-home and this time travel Canada, US, Mexico and Europe! Off we went, the 6 of us, my sisters in diapers, and my brother and I home-schooled for a number of years... We were a real novelty in Mexico and Europe, having such a 'Fancy' wagon... I can remember on numerous occassions being chased on the road by REAL gypsies who wanted to know more about our 'space-age' home. (thats me to the far right)
I have wonderful memories of these times, despite a few hardships... I was a gypsy child, living the gypsy life and all that entails... (Me again, on some beach in Spain, making music)
So now my wonder lust is back, and I want a wagon with roses painted all over it! (no space age home for me!) Truthfully, I kind of like the idea of having it sit in my backyard, so I can quietly go on my 'imaginary travels' and 'Make Music' whenever I want! Care to join me?
