Shoes made for dreaming

Why is it so many of us adore shoes? Not just any shoes but ones with delicate heels, fanciful trims and details that make our hearts melt. When I met my husband and became engaged in New York, 20 years ago, I bought a pair of Peter Fox shoes to celebrate. They are deep purple and look best dancing in the woods. They cost a fortune, it was all I returned to Calfornia with (besides my ring). When we married it was Perry Ellis who charmed me. These cloud coloured shoes remined me of Edwardian balls and romantic garden strolls, down pebble strewn lanes. They look like young sisters next to my lone Victorian 'Ladies slipper'. I once fancied myself a shoemaker, creating this lavish confection with French heels, antique chinese embroidery and hand dyed velvet. It was too costly to construct and took too long to create. Now I revel in the paper works of Claire Guiral (see her link under Inspiration on my sidebar) who makes fairy like shoes I have only seen in my dreams. Perhaps its time to invite the little shoe making elves to dinner?
Yes Corey, I too married a dancer, and have been dancing in the moonlight ever since...
