The night before Thanksgiving, 15 elves were busy transforming the Castle into a true 'Christmas wonderland'. Treat yourself and come visit! There is plenty to delight and make one merry! We look forward to making your christmas dreams come true...
Christmas was in the air at the castle, with a 'Victorian Ornament' class late November. Beautiful little treasures, created of tinsel, dresden, lovely scrap images, crepe paper, cupcake papers, glitter, and love!
I taught a two day Soldered Jewelry class at the Mendocino Arts Center, in November. It was a beautiful weekend, with plenty of sunshine and glorious sunsets. The air was crisp and chilly, with the ocean so near. The Jewelry classroom is cozy and warm, very conducive to creating wonderful art! My students were a very talented bunch, as you can see from their work here.
I had a very funky/retro, but comfy and large with kitchen, apartment for the weekend. A skyblue door greeted me each evening. It was less than 20 steps from the classroom! The whole campus is filled with wonderful art inside and out. Do check out their websight, for a variety of class offerings. I will be there again in the summer. It was a bit like taking a working vacation!
In case you were wondering if I was missed, this little one made it clear she wanted to come with If I was leaving anytime soon again. Yep, thats my suitcase, not quite unpacked...
Seems like ages since I posted last. Sorry. The 'Woodland Journal' class at the Castle was a huge success. We played with copper mesh, working magic with 'Liver of Sulfer', hammered hundreds of eyelets, and used beautiful transparencies to make 'Woodland Journals' any nymph would be proud of!
This could easily have been a two day class. Ribbons, twigs, leafy beads and charms were wound around the outside of each journal. I hope to do this class again in the spring, perhaps with a 'Meadow' theme so we can use springtime inspiration!
WOW...WOW...WOW... Last, but certainly not least, Halloween Paper Theatres were created a day before the Spooks arrived! Everyone had a marvelous time, feeding off one anothers creative energy (pun intended)! I think having a theme really helped this class be so successful!
AND JUST SO YOU KNOW THAT SPOOKS CAME TO OUR HOUSE TOO, MY 'LITTLE' WAS A FIRE-FAIRY WITH AN ATTITUDE!
Another fabulous class! These 3/D Reliquaries are fun to make and beautiful when finished. However, they are a real challange to photograph!!! A professional I am not! Here are a few for your admiration.
